Family Christmas Traditions that’ll Stick

Considering E is only 4 months old this Christmas, it makes some family traditions a little more unrealistic.  Basically, they are more for hubs & I to get a practice run before the real deal next year!  Christmas is one of my very favorite times of the year, so I am so excited to start family Christmas traditions.

E’s Favorite Things: 3 Months Old

First of all, shout out to my friend & fellow FTM (first time Mom), Paige, for this idea! The plan is to do updates of what things E enjoys the most from month to month. From store bought to DIY, whatever tickles his fancy for the time being!  It has been so helpful for me as a FTM to see referrals of specific items that have benefited children of a similar age as E.  I’m hoping this will do the same for you! Since I’m living the SAHM life now, we are ballin on a budget. SO that just means I get to notch my DIY skills up to the next level. Breastfeeding: the good, the bad & the ugly

Well, I’ve officially been breastfeeding 16 weeks. It’s crazy how fast time flies by. I’ve had someone attached to my nip 2-4 hours out of every day for almost a third of a year.  SAY WHAT! While my experience is short in comparison to some others, I have still learned so much.   So, here it is. Some of the good, the bad & the ugly I’ve come to know to be breastfeeding.

“Any mom that can handle a baby & loading groceries deserves a medal!”

So, I’m new to this SAHM (stay at home mom) thing, obvs. Some may have it down pat come 3.5 months, but I’ve been pretty wary still. I’ve been tossing around the idea of grocery shopping with E (just the two of us) for a while but I haven’t been able to get past the ” I’m supposed to do what?? Alone?? HA!” thoughts until now.

It’s funny because I’m the type of person who always wants to be around people. I don’t really thrive with “me” time & actually tend to get bored with it. With that being said, I was nervous I would be stir crazy being alone all day with E. Who was I kidding? Obvs, I’m not actually alone for starters…  He’s a full time job! & that’s not even counting all the other things you’re supposed to accomplish day in & day out as the homemaker. But that’s another post!

Baby’s First Thanksgiving Crafts

I’m only three months in, but I can already tell that the first year with a baby is filled with so many monumental milestones.  Everything they do is a “first”.  It’s mind boggling to me.  From reaching for your hand to their first thanksgiving, every moment is so precious.  I, of course, want to document  in as many ways as possible.  I constantly am capturing digital moments (I currently have 2745 photos & 238 videos on my phone….) but I also am a sucker for the tangible items.  So I craft! & boy, are these thanksgiving crafts presh!

Graduation Pictures: Fighting for the Golden Hour

Photography has always been a passion of mine. I took classes in high school & swore I was going to NYU to get a degree in it (before I realized how cold & broke I’d be; I wised up quick after that!).  I’m a pictureholic–the girl who’s annoyingly snapping away non-stop.  The one that forces her friends & family to pose for Pinterest inspired ideas & the one that will make you march back outside for a retake if the angle wasn’t right. A nuisance to many…but you can’t beat a perfect shot. To me, it’s worth all the hassle in order to have that moment so perfectly captured in time. To have something to look back on that will allow memories to flood into your mind and heart. What is better than that??

Baby in a Pumpkin – Pinterest Fail

Boy, oh boy. It’s going to be a long eighteen years of taking pictures if this is any indication of my future! As I talked about in my pumpkin pickin’ post, you have to be very time efficient when photographing babies.  Well, I didn’t think about the fact that I may need to prep Mike as well (whoops), but I’m getting ahead of myself, let’s start from the beginning.
